Long before I became an underthinking coach, I was an overthinking academic. Slogging through the pretentiousness and complexity of academia earned me a PhD in linguistics, a lifetime of debt, and an eternal wish to keep things simple.

I’m no longer interested in picking up new tools. I want to use the ones I have better. And help others see what they’re already holding, too.

The best tool in our box

The most uniquely human tool we all wield is our ability to speak. That we can do it at all sets us apart from all other living beings.

Improving your ability by even a fraction of a percent sets you apart from the rest of humanity, too. But only if you use that skill for good, to bring us all back together again.

Things worth knowing are worth sharing

Learning the mechanics of language has allowed me to understand people better and develop my coaching practice. More importantly though, it enables the people I work with to understand themselves better.
